“No green pass” event: the gazebo of the M5s destroyed to the cry of “traitors” | VIDEO
A group of demonstrators who took to the streets yesterday to protest against the green pass in Milan destroyed a gazebo belonging to the 5 Star Movement, accused of being and “traitors”.
Around 7:30 pm yesterday, an unauthorized procession reached the gazebo set up by the militants of the M5S in via Torino, near the Darsena to support the candidate for mayor of Milan Layla Pavone, overturning him to the cry of “sold” and “shame”.
“It was an episode of inexplicable violence, because the perpetrators are those who praise freedom, starting with that of choice,” wrote M5S exponent Stefano Buffagni, former Deputy Minister of Economic Development, on his Facebook profile. “I am dismayed and embittered by what happened, violence is not in Milan’s DNA,” said the candidate of the Movement for mayor of Milan, Layla Pavone. “I express deep closeness to the activists [del] M5S victims of such incivility “.
The demonstrators had left from Piazza Duomo, where in the afternoon about 3,000 protesters against the green pass had gathered to protest against the measures decided by the Draghi government to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The protest was organized by various acronyms, from the 3V movement to the Ancora Italia association, up to the Non harm forum and the Dissent Front, to contest the green pass, defined by the stage as an “anti-democratic measure that has nothing to do with the health situation, but it only serves to split society into first-class and second-class people ”. “We are not no vax we are for the freedom of choice”, said the organizers, also attacking the political parties, especially the Democratic Party and “the traitors Di Maio and Salvini”.
Another demonstration is scheduled next Wednesday against the extension of the green pass obligation, which aims to block railway stations in 54 cities. The event, organized online, was announced for 2:30 pm on Wednesday 1 September, the date on which the Covid-19 green certification will also become mandatory for those traveling on long-distance trains.
The certificate, which is issued in physical or digital form to those who have undergone a tampon, are cured of Covid-19 or have been vaccinated, can be used to travel to European Union countries and from August is also required to access to the internal rooms of bars and restaurants as well as events open to the public.

Mentre il dibattito tra vaccinati e non vaccinati si acuisce ogni giorno di più, la sensazione è quella di star perdendo di vista un obiettivo che dovrebbe essere comune da un anno e mezzo: l’uscita dall’emergenza. Quest’ultima invece sembra trovare nuova linfa tramite varianti e restrizioni che ora si presentano in forma diversa. Dopo l’introduzione del Green Pass, chi non si è ancora sottoposto al vaccino o non ha ottenuto un tampone negativo nelle precedenti 48 ore non potrà svolgere determinate azioni quotidiane come mangiare in un ristorante al chiuso.
Viene così confermata la tendenza di una fase emergenziale perpetua, nella quale il potere dispone provvedimenti che minano le basi delle libertà fondamentali dei cittadini. Uno stallo dal quale non si intravede ancora l’uscita. Anzi, secondo il professor Alessandro Meluzzi “non si fermeranno al Covid”. E di pochi giorni tra l’altro l’allarme lanciato dall’Oms sul virus Marburg, malattia simile all’Ebola che sta colpendo l’Africa. “Hanno capito – prosegue lo psichiatra, in diretta con Fabio Duranti – che non si poteva fare con l’ideologia, con l’economia, con i nazionalismi e quindi hanno deciso che l’unica strada è la cosiddetta salute”.

Moderna Inc. (Nasdaq: MRNA) has shifted gears on its own company vaccine policy, mandating Covid-19 vaccines for all U.S. workers starting Oct. 1.
As recently as this week, the company — famously a developer of one of three Covid-19 vaccines given emergency use authorization by the FDA — had not implemented a vaccine mandate or indicated that it might head in that direction. Spokesperson Ray Jordan told the Business Journal on Monday that Moderna had "thorough safety, masking, testing protocols in place."
The shift, announced Friday, is reflective of a rapidly changing landscape among employer vaccine requirements. Life science company leaders in particular had largely shrugged off the idea of a mandate until recently, citing the high vaccination rates of their own workforces. But in the absence of leadership from the public sector as the Delta variant spurs another rise in Covid-19 cases, executives have changed their tune, viewing vaccine requirements as a question of moral leadership more than pragmatism.
Moderna is the last of the three Covid-19 vaccine makers to announce a mandate. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) in August started requiring all of its U.S.-based employees and contractors to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 4. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PKE), which is based in New York but has a sizable presence in Cambridge, announced earlier this month that U.S. workers would need to either get vaccinated or submit to weekly testing.
“The safety and well-being of the Moderna community continues to be a top priority as we work to help end the Covid-19 pandemic with our mRNA vaccine,” Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said in a statement shared with the Business Journal. “This new requirement reflects our commitment to the health of our team, their families and society, as we know Covid-19 vaccines can help prevent severe disease, hospitalizations and death.”
