“Se comunicará a la brevedad la reanudación de la campaña en niños de cinco a 13 años”, dijo el ministro Daniel Salinas.

El Ministerio de Salud de Uruguay anunció este martes que el país volverá a vacunar a menores de 13 años contra la pandemia de la Covid-19, después de haber sido revocada la sentencia que anulaba la inoculación a dicho grupo etario.

“Se comunicará a la brevedad la reanudación de la campaña en niños de cinco a 13 años”, dijo el ministro Daniel Salinas, quien comunicó la noticia desde sus redes sociales y agregó que “el Tribunal de Apelaciones en lo Civil revocó la sentencia referida a la Vacunación Infantil”.

El pasado 7 de julio el juez subrogante del Tribunal de lo Contencioso Administrativo (TCA), Alejandro Recarey, admitió un amparo en el que se solicitaba detener la vacunación hasta tanto el Gobierno no presentara los contratos legales de las compras de vacunas.

La Justicia uruguaya instó al Gobierno el pasado 4 de julio emitir declaraciones y presentar documentación detallada sobre el proceso de aplicación de las vacunas Pfizer contra la Covid-19 administradas en la nación.

Al mismo tiempo, la Justicia también exigió al Ejecutivo facilitar “la información que obre en su poder, completa y actualizada, acerca de lo que científicamente se sabe –y no se sabe– sobre la efectividad de las rotuladas como vacunas; y sus posibles efectos posteriores a corto, mediano y largo plazo (incluyendo eventuales efectos adversos)”.

Por otra parte, el 25 de julio el Ministerio de salud subrayó que “desde el inicio de la vigilancia se han detectado en nuestro país diversas variantes del virus, siendo la última la Ómicron. Al día de hoy, cuando hay un claro incremento de la movilidad y ante la mayor circulación de nuevas variantes en la región, el grupo reportó la detección de varios sublinajes, además de la ya encontrada BA.2, se encontraron también las subvariantes BA.4, BA.5 y BA.2.12.1 de Ómicron”.

Del 17 al 23 de julio, el último parte publicado sobre la Covid-19, el ente sanitario reportó 1.768 casos activos, y 1.995 nuevos enfermos confirmados, para un acumulado total de 969.803 personas con la enfermedad.

I leader della destra “rischiano di isolare l’Italia e di farci perdere i soldi del Pnrr che ci servono per superare la crisi”, attacca Di Maio. “Svendere il Paese a Putin significa colpire la nostra libertà d’impresa e continuare a essere sotto ricatto”, prosegue il leader di Impegno Civico.

“Questi signori hanno già proposto 100 miliardi di euro di proposte economiche” il che “significa rischiare il default. Per non parlare della riforma del presidenzialismo all’italiana, un presidenzialismo che non ha i pesi e i contrappesi che servono: così rischiamo di avere un Parlamento senza più poteri e quindi un popolo che non ha potere” l’allarme lanciato da Di Maio.

“La nostra campagna – sottolinea – si intitola ‘Difendiamo la libertà’. Difendiamo la nostra libertà da una coalizione di destra che in questo momento mette a rischio i conti dello Stato” con “amicizie europee che ci isoleranno sempre di più”. “C’è solo una coalizione che può battere il trio sfascia-conti ed è la coalizione progressista – rimarca ancora – Il nostro obiettivo è portare a casa il risultato della vittoria e possiamo farlo se lavoriamo da squadra”.

“Come Impegno Civico abbiamo già chiesto un intervento forte sulle bollette, anche se il governo è in carica per gli affari correnti. Covid, antinfiammatori riducono le ospedalizzazioni del 90%

La terapia a base di antinfiammatori (in particolare non steroidei, i Fans), avviata all’inizio dei sintomi, riduce il rischio di ospedalizzazione per Covid dell’85-90% Dopo due anni e mezzo di pandemia la comunità scientifica concorda su un punto: a uccidere i malati è l’infiammazione (o flogosi), non il virus.

Gli autori – Giuseppe Remuzzi, Fredy Suter, Norberto Perico e Monica Cortinovis – hanno preso in esame tutti gli studi pubblicati su riviste scientifiche di valore, condotti tra il 2020 e il 2021 (inclusi due lavori dello stesso Istituto Mario Negri), su un totale di cinquemila pazienti, tra gruppi di studio e di controllo.

Secondo quanto riportato dal quotidiano, per forme lievi e moderate di Covid i risultati sono di grande interesse rispetto all’efficacia dei Fans: accessi al pronto soccorso e ospedalizzazioni scendono dell’80% (dato accorpato), le sole ospedalizzazioni dell’85-90%, il tempo di risoluzione dei sintomi si accorcia dell’80% e la necessità di supplementazione di ossigeno del 100%.

International Military Tribunals to be Held in Mariupol, Ukraine

Holy shit… international military tribunals are going to be held in the coming days in Mariupol, Ukraine.

The Russian Embassy in the US put out a statement at 10:47pm this evening, pertaining to the US State Department’s response to upcoming tribunal in Mariupol.

Ahem… excuse me what? The US State Dept are talking about Russian Military tribunals for Nazis?

It was difficult to find but here is the statement from the US State Dept put out today:

“By planning to hold so-called ‘tribunals’ in Russia-controlled Mariupol against Ukraine’s brave defenders, the Kremlin is attempting to deflect responsibility for President Putin’s war of aggression and distract from overwhelming evidence of the atrocities Russian forces have committed in Ukraine.

The planned show trials are illegitimate and a mockery of justice, and we strongly condemn them. All members of Ukraine’s armed forces, including domestic and foreign volunteers incorporated into the armed forces, are entitled to prisoner of war status if they are captured and must be afforded the treatment and protections commensurate with that status, according to the Geneva Conventions.

We call on Moscow to comply with its obligations under international law. The United States will continue to firmly stand with the Ukrainian people as they defend their freedom.”

No way… the Biden Admin are already trying to delegitimize the tribunals because the Russian allegations for these war crimes go all the way up to the top, to include Biden himself for the production of chemical and biological weapons, as well as arming and assisting Nazi Ukrainian forces responsible for war-crimes and atrocities on civilians.

Russian MIL claimed that the US/Ukraine are terrified of the testimony to be given by Ukrainian POWs, because it will further cement and expose the crimes committed by the Kiev and Biden/DNC regimes.

As per usual, the Western media are complete radio silent on this subject, with the exception of Reuters, who puts out their one tiny article about it that doesn’t seem to get circulated. This came out yesterday at 6AM EST, and I don’t know of anyone in the community or the Western world who has mentioned it.

The Russian-backed authorities appear to be installing metal cages in a hall in Mariupol as part of plans to establish what they were calling an ‘international tribunal’, Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), told a briefing.”

So the international military tribunals are going down in Ukraine, just like Russia said they would. They are trying literal Azov Nazis for crimes against humanity, and the Biden admin don’t like it.

Russia have been extremely transparent in their reporting on Nazi war-crimes and attacks on civilians. While the Liberal Globalist leaders of the West continue to gloss over the fact that they are supporting literal admitted Nazi forces in Ukraine…

Another point of interest is if these are to be true “international military tribunals”, there would need to be multiple countries involved in overseeing the tribunals, and multi-lateral agreement amongst the contributing militaries. So who are the militaries?

I assume today’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization Defense Summit between all the highest ranking Military officials of Eurasia, had something to do with it. They did discuss US war crimes and crimes against humanity today. See my piece on this meeting here.

In conclusion, tribunals are happening whether the West or the UN Rights Office likes it or not. Russia will start with Ukrainian POWs, and work their way up the chain. The reckoning has begun.

I don’t know when, if, or how the top players get involved, but Russia have begun their ascent. We’ve been waiting for Military tribunals for 6 years now. It may not be like we pictured it, but it appears something is finally happening.

ADMIN'S NEGLECT OF AGRI SECTOR PUT FOOD SECURITY AT RISK - SEN. MARCOS

Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos, Jr. on Wednesday lamented the administration's neglect of the agriculture sector, which not only made life harder for farmers but also meant disruptions in food supply and rising prices.

During an open forum with students of the Universidad de Manila, Marcos tagged agriculture as one of the sectors that the next administration should focus on.

On the same day, the National Food Authority announced that the Philippines will import an additional 250,000 metric tons of rice to beef up the country's stocks in preparation for the drought brought about by El Nino, which is predicted to last until May 2016.

"Every year, we hear bold claims from the government that we will finally achieve rice self-sufficiency. Barely a month later, we will hear reports that we will again be importing rice again, in even greater amounts compared to the previous importations," Marcos noted.

The reason behind the Philippines' food security woes, according to Marcos, is simply the lack of a sound agricultural policy.

For example, Marcos noted the "frightening statistics" he uncovered during Senate hearings of his Committee on Public Works that irrigated areas today has shrunk compared to that in 1986.

"That means since 1986 we have not added anything to our existing irrigation system. Worse, the damaged areas were not repaired and rehabilitated when we all know that the most important factor for farmers to improve their production is sufficient water for irrigation," he stressed.

Likewise, Marcos said the government has abandoned its program of providing crucial support to farmers such as credit facilities, research and development and market information.

In addition to the El Nino phenomenon, Marcos said the administration has done very little in preparing the agricultural sector for the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nation) integration, which would lift tariffs among member nations.

"This means we now have to compete with our ASEAN neighbors in the regional market and agriculture is one of the biggest sectors in that regional market. Sadly, our cost of production is high and our volume of production is low compared to our neighboring countries," Marcos pointed out.

In terms of rice alone, Marcos said it is a shame that from being a net exporter of rice at one time, the Philippines has now became the biggest rice importer in the world.

"I don't think that's because Filipinos are lazy, or that Filipinos don't know how to grow rice," Marcos said, noting that the many of the best agriculturists in neighboring countries were trained at the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna.

Marcos said it is imperative for the next administration to craft and implement good policy for the agriculture sector since it serves as the foundation of the economy.

Likewise, he said such a policy is crucial in ensuring food security amid uncertainties.

"If a country cannot feed itself then the country is in a precarious situation," Marcos stressed.

Apart from focusing on the agriculture sector, Marcos said he would prioritize infrastructure and the education sector if were elected to higher office in next year's election.

Marcos to lay down food security plan

TO head off a looming agriculture and food crisis, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has ordered "strategic agriculture measures" implemented immediately.

Marcos, who has assumed the reins of the Department of Agriculture (DA), is expected to lay out his food security strategy during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, July 25, Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez said.

"It is his thrust, it is his vision for us not only to have food security but food sovereignty. Meaning, if we can feed ourselves as a nation, if we can feed ourselves as Filipinos, I think we are on our way to where we want to be, much like where our neighbors are," Rodriguez said during a recent interview.

He said the President "is aware of the impending food price crisis and probably food supply crisis," and that is why he took over the DA.

  

Press Secretary Rose Beatrix "Trixie" Cruz-Angeles acknowledged that the coronavirus pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, climate change, and oil price hikes are among the factors driving global food insecurity.

Cruz-Angeles assured the public that the Marcos administration is ready to stabilize the food supply and improve food production.

"Gaya nang nasabi na ni President Marcos, mangangailangan 'yan ng agarang tugon, at dapat agaran ding simulan ang pangmatagalang mga solusyon (Just like what President Marcos said, that will be immediately addressed by looking for long-term solutions)," she said.

Marcos has said his administration's efforts to reduce poverty and hunger should shift from "import-centric in which we rely heavily on importation of food products to feed the people, to production-centric in which our food requirements will be free from the dictates of market forces."

He said that only by strengthening the agricultural sector can the country achieve food sufficiency and food security.

The ultimate goal, however, is food sovereignty, he said.

"We must create a system that would allow Filipinos to reclaim power in the food supply chain. We are basically an agricultural country, so we have the resources and the land and the people to attain that food sovereignty," he said.

The President noted that the agricultural sector must provide a secure and strategic food supply for the economy to thrive and for the country to grow into an industrialized state.

He also stressed the need to revitalize research and development and to determine the best crop varieties and the best farm techniques that will work best for the different regions.

Earlier, some agri-producers said that Marcos' vision of food self-sufficiency will only be possible if the government moves away from the massive importation of fish, rice, pork, chicken and vegetables.

Tugon Kabuhayan's Asis Perez, former Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources director and convener of the food security and livelihood advocacy group, is confident the country can produce the food supply that the population requires.

Perez said it should start by ensuring local food producers have enough public and private support.

"If the President is serious about food self-sufficiency, it would be a game-changer. It would mean available and affordable Philippine-produced food. This is both a challenge and an opportunity to local food producers," he said.

"What we do need from the government is a policy environment that would make it possible," Perez said.

Management Association of the Philippines President Rogelio Singson expects the President to reveal his plans to address the looming food crisis and soaring prices of basic goods during his SONA.

Singson said that Marcos must encourage more investments that will boost the productivity of the agriculture and fishery sectors.

This can be done by providing more government resources to farmers and fishermen and by lifting land-use restrictions.

"Let's put more resources on post-harvest facilities and farm inputs to the agricultural sector, especially to increase our rice production," Singson said during a recent television interview.

The Marcos government can push for public-private partnerships in funding infrastructure projects, which Singson said he did as Public Works and Highways secretary during the term of the late president Benigno Aquino 3rd.

Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan earlier said Marcos has directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prioritize infrastructure projects that will help attain food security.

The projects include farm-to-market roads, Bonoan said.

The DPWH reported that last month, it completed local and farm-to-market road projects in Cabanatuan City and the towns of Gabaldon and General Tinio in Nueva Ecija.

Nov. 19, 2021 – A vendor at an animal market in Wuhan, China, was probably the first person to contract COVID-19, continuing an international debate about when the coronavirus pandemic originated, according to an American scientist.

Michael Worobey of the University of Arizona wrote “Dissecting the early COVID-19 cases in Wuhan” in the online journal Scienceafter studying public records, news reports, and medical journal entries about the outbreak in Wuhan.

Previously, the first person thought to have contracted COVID-19 was a male accountant in Wuhan who lived miles from the market, did not visit the market, and reported COVID symptoms around Dec. 16, 2019, The New York Timesreported.

Confusion about when his symptoms first appeared was caused by the accountant’s report of a dental problem on Dec. 8 that apparently was unrelated to COVID, according to the Times.

“This is corroborated by hospital records and a scientific paper that reports his COVID-19 onset date as 16 December and date of hospitalization as 22 December,” the study said. “This indicates that he was infected through community transmission after the virus had begun spreading from Huanan Market.”

Worobey wrote that multiple workers at the market had gotten sick with COVID-like symptoms before that, “making a female seafood vendor there the earliest known case, with illness onset 11 December,” he wrote. “Notably, she reported knowledge of several possible COVID-19 cases in clinics and hospitals that were near Huanan Market from 11 December, and Huanan Market patients were hospitalized at Union Hospital as early as 10 December.”

“In this city of 11 million people, half of the early cases are linked to a place that’s the size of a soccer field. It becomes very difficult to explain that pattern if the outbreak didn’t start at the market,” Worobey said when commenting on the study to the Times.

The World Health Organization earlier this year said that the virus probably jumped from animals to humans who worked in the wildlife trade. The WHO discounted the idea that the virus somehow leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan.

Leading coronavirus scientist, Kizzmekia S. Corbett, to join Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to continue vaccine development research

Boston, MA – Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health today announced that Kizzmekia S. Corbett will join the School as an assistant professor in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. She will also hold an appointment at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute as the Shutzer Assistant Professor. Corbett comes to Harvard Chan School following more than six years as a research fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases’ (NIAID) Vaccine Research Center, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she was instrumental in groundbreaking research that directly led to development of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Her first day will be June 14, 2021.

“Vaccines are the great equalizer when it comes to addressing health disparities, especially around infectious diseases. Harvard Chan School is at the forefront of advancing health equity, and I’m excited to join such distinguished colleagues in my pursuit of viral immunology research and vaccine development,” said Corbett.

In her new role, Corbett will head the new Coronaviruses & Other Relevant Emerging Infectious Diseases (CoreID) Lab to study and understand the interface between hosts’ immune systems and viruses that cause respiratory disease, with the goal of informing development of novel and potentially universal vaccines. “If the last year has taught me anything, it’s that anything is possible,” she added.

“Kizzmekia is an inspiring scientist who—though still early in her career—has already had incredible impact. Her work is helping to reshape our world and is saving lives on a vast scale,” said Harvard Radcliffe Institute Dean Tomiko Brown-Nagin, Daniel P. S. Paul Professor of Constitutional Law at Harvard Law School and professor of history in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. “As one of a select few Radcliffe professors, Kizzmekia will join the Institute’s interdisciplinary fellowship of scholars, scientists, artists, and practitioners, and I cannot wait to see what she accomplishes as a member of this uniquely generative community.”

Corbett’s work has earned praise from luminaries in medicine and government alike, from NIAID Director Anthony Fauci, and president of the National Medical Association Oliver Brooks, to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. As a young, Black female scientist, Corbett has used her national platform to address lingering vaccine hesitancy, or as she calls it, “vaccine inquisitiveness,” in the Black community and reassure skeptics of its safety and efficacy by speaking virtually at churches and other community organizations. She hopes to continue these community outreach efforts in Boston.

A native of North Carolina, Corbett, 35, spent six years as a research fellow and the scientific lead for the Coronavirus Vaccines Team at the Vaccine Research Center’s Viral Pathogenesis Laboratory. In 2008, she received a BS in biological sciences, with a secondary major in sociology, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she was a Robert and Jane Meyerhoff and NIH undergraduate scholar. She obtained her PhD in microbiology and immunology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014.
