Obedience is key to a successful life
First of 2 parts
I considered it as a defining moment in my life when I heard a piece of Biblical advice regarding obedience. That is, obedience is the key to one's successful life –The Lord God's plan for his servants.
To wit, the Bible says: The holy God of Israel, the Lord who saves you, says: "I am the Lord your God, the one who wants to teach you for your own good and direct you in the way you should go."
"If only you had listened to my commands! Then blessings would have flowed for you like a stream that never goes dry! Victory would have come to you like the waves that roll on the shore."
By the way, what is obedience? Obedience is compliance with an order, request, or law – submission to another's authority (Oxford Languages). It is an act or instance of following an instruction or is the state of being obedient.
Obedience manifests a quick and cheerful carrying out of the wise direction received from an authority.
Thomas Fuller states, "Obedience is much more seen in little things than in great ones."
According to the International Association of Character Cities (2000), there are three rewards of obedience, namely protection, provision and direction.
Accordingly, "The road to success often includes painful lessons that obedience protects us from repeating."
Meanwhile, "Parents and other authorities enjoy rewarding an obedient spirit in those under them by giving to needs and wants." Further, "An obedient spirit in sons and daughters motivates their parents to give the wisest possible counsel for the decisions they face."
On July 27, 1968, the Church Of Christ or Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) reached the Western Hemisphere – Hawaii and California – under the prophecies written in the Holy Scriptures, and through the initiative as well as through the obedience to the words of God of the 2nd INC Executive Minister Brother Eraño G. Manalo.
