    Duties

    Summary

    You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT (OA) in the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) of NAVSUPPACT NAPLES.

    Locality pay is not authorized overseas.

    Responsibilities

    • You will operate a computer or word processor to create, edit, print, retrieve, or manipulate documents, charts, spreadsheets, and files.
    • You will compile a wide range of information and data to ensure that necessary material are initially obtained and kept current.
    • You will determine action required for incoming correspondence to prioritize suspense dates.
    • You will collaborate with staff in the office, and in other offices, to foster and maintain effective cooperative relationships to complete assignments.

    • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

    • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • The work is primarily sedentary. Some walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs, and carrying and/or lifting of lightweight items may be required.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responding to inquiries from military personnel and military family members regarding training, counseling, and educational programs and services; 2) Utilizing office automation software applications to produce and edit documents with complex formats including correspondence, schedules, reports, and a variety of marketing material; 3) Creating and maintaining data, files and records for easy retrieval; 4) Receiving calls, greeting visitors, and responding to routine requests for information to support a fleet and family support program.

    Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
