Biotech company Moderna was founded in 2010 and was formerly named ModeRNA Therapeutics.
The company is part of the US government's Operation Warp Speed programme.
It is owned by shareholders.

Moderna has said its vaccine was 94.5 per cent effective in preventing Covid-19 based on interim data from a late-stage clinical trial.
"We are going to have a vaccine that can stop Covid-19," Moderna President Stephen Hoge said in a telephone interview.
Moderna expects to be able to produce 20 million doses by the end of the year, and between 500 million and 1 billion in 2021.
